MASTER OF ARTS IN PRACTICAL THEOLOGY

Northpoint Bible College Grand Rapids Campus is proud to announce our new master’s program, Master of Arts in Practical Theology, which we are looking to launch Fall 2017. This degree will have two concentrations: Preaching Concentration and Pastoral Leadership Development.

Degree Title: Master of Arts in Practical Theology

Program Date: Fall, 2017 – Spring, 2020

Schedule: 8 Semesters, One Week in Class per Semester

Total Cost: $7,000

 


PREACHING CONCENTRATION

The Preaching Concentration is designed to equip pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and ministry students to preach with greater ability, and confidence. Upon completion of this degree the graduate will be able to practice genre sensitive biblical interpretation, build sermons that maintain listener interest, and engage in audience analysis.

*Students entering with a BA in Bible or equivelant may be granted advanced standing for marked courses (*) as long as the courses substituted are comparable and have a grade of a “B” or higher. Unity of the Bible can be substituted for courses such as Old Testament or New Testament History and Literature. A range of courses in either the Old Testament or New Testament totaling six to nine hours in each discipline will meet the requirement for Old Testament Theology and New Testament Theology. The grades for these courses must be at a “B” or higher level.

PASTORAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

The Pastoral Leadership Development Concentration equips church and parachurch ministry leaders to become Spirit-led, strategic thinkers. Graduates will be able to synthesize leadership theory, lead from a Scriptural perspective, and build effective ministry communities.
